Following a brief career as a qualified Town Planner Steve Morgan worked as an Occupational Therapist on an acute in-patient unit in the mid-1980’s before taking up roles in community mental health and assertive outreach in inner-city London services from 1987 to 1997.
He spent 7 years working in the Sainsbury Centre for Mental health training section (initially on a part-time secondment), before leaving in October 2001 to establish his own practice development consultancy: Practice Based Evidence. The consultancy prioritises practice, team and service development through working alongside practitioners and teams.
He also currently works as a case manager with Neuro Health Case Management Services co-ordinating care for people with acquired brain injury &/or severe physical trauma.
His latest book ‘Working with Strengths: Putting personalisation and Recovery into practice’ was published in May 2014. Steve has developed a unique approach to combining strengths-based practice and risk management through the concept of positive risk-taking.
From April 2014 he has also established the weekly Strengths Revolution podcast show, with all of the episodes and associated publications accessible on the blog established at http://strengthsrevolution.net/
