On The Blog : Some Useful Exercises For A New Year
I love the period between Christmas and New Year, it’s one of the best time to think about your business and your life because most people have some time off and once all the rush of getting ready for Christmas is over, you’ve got a fridge full of food and lots of time on your hands.
True to form, I started my thinking by looking back over 2011, the second most difficult year of my life to date, by thinking about what my greatest achievements had been. Then I moved onto what had my biggest disappointments been, before moving on to what had I learned (so much I had to divide it into Part 1 and Part 2, how had I held myself back, what my roles will be in 2012 and what my goals are for 2012 around those roles.
I’m still working on the latter three parts of this! They’ll be up by the end of today though…
On The Blog : The Best Of 2011 – The Most Read / Shared Posts
It’s becoming traditional with bloggers to create a post at the end of the year, rounding up their best posts of the year.
As well as making it easy for their readers to spend a happy few hours (hopefully!) browsing through the best bits, it helps the search engine spiders to go deeper into the site and index the topics the bloggers cover most, and the key phrases, thus getting a better feel for what the site is all about.
In my case, too, it gives people the chance to share older posts using social media buttons like the Google + button, which didn’t exist at the beginning of 2011.
Why don’t you take a few minutes and index your “best bits” from the last year on your blog too? It’s just a copy and paste job but you might be amazed at how good your blogging has been, overall.
Business Resource Of The Week : How Can I Help You Right Now?
Every few months or so I send out an email asking people “How Can I Help You?” and last time I got over 100 replies.
I sent back emails to every single one of them – often asking further questions about their business idea or existing business – but you would be amazed how few responded the second time.
Would YOU pass up the opportunity to get my help with your marketing or your business?
Well, if you just shouted “No!” to that question, then I’ve got a rather special January offer for you and this is not available anywhere else.
Rather than send out an email this time, I’m going to offer you, as a reader of my ezine, the very same chance to get me working on your business and we can get started this week.
If you want to get me working on YOUR business, in return for an investment of just £1, then now’s your chance.
Just £1 will get you access to my membership site and my private Facebook support group PLUS access to 4 x mentoring calls with me. Get business idea feedback, ask techie, time management, business strategy questions, get help with key word research….you name it, we can talk about it….
(You are in charge at all times, you can cancel your trial at any time during the 7 day trial if you find that working with a mentor is not for you).
Business Diary : Lunch With Neil Asher, Jazz Album Marketing Update & Learning To Listen
I’m writing to you today from Neil Asher’s dining room table in his lovely open plan living room overlooking the sea and the cliffs of Rottingdean near Brighton – it’s an amazing view! Especially now the sun is going down and the lights of the traffic from Brighton are starting to twinkle far below…
He’s at the other end of the table tapping away on his rather impressive MacBook Pro (or something like that) while I tap away on my much loved ancient Sony Vaio which is protesting mightily about being moved from it’s customary place on my dining room table by displaying an alarming red screen every so often.
You might be able to see the red in the dark bits of that picture but it might just be me. I suspect it might have got bashed when we loaded it into the front of his Porsche (a boot at the front? What that’s all about?) while I lowered myself gingerly into the passenger seat. Either that or the display screen is on it’s way out. Pray not!
What am I doing at Neil’s? He invited me to lunch to talk about my strategy for Total Business Cart, which I’m taking over the marketing of, for the next year or so and he had some great ideas too, as well as serving a very tasty lunch. Well, he did used to chef in Michelin star’d restaurants so you would expect nothing less.
One of his ideas involved an interesting trend he’s noticed in Google searches, which the rest of us perhaps are too close to, to have noticed, but it opens some amazing opportunities which play right to my strengths so that is very cool. It’s a niche that is trending hard – we can’t work out why at all although we have some ideas – and which could drive traffic both to Total Business Cart but also to The Business Success Factory which is very cool indeed.
“I put that idea you gave me into action and created a brand new business this week, it’s already making £12,500 a month and I can see how I’m going to triple that already.” JS, London
“Business has quadrupled and I’ve been featured on national TV” Sarah Leather, TheBabyMakingClub.com
‘Thank you so much for your help today Nicola, I’ve only just joined (Mentoring Programme) and already I’m making progress… the fog is lifting ” Ursula O’Connell, Ireland
“Hey! I am on PAGE ONE in Google……within DAYS! Thanks to you! From no presence at all….” Bublee Goswami kuhee.com
