Business Diary | Album Update, Mobile Landing Pages & Mastermind Cigars

Bit of a minor setback with Heather’s album this week, in that the studio she’s set her heart on using is not free till mid September as the guy who owns it is camping in Italy all bloomin’ August with his kids – how dare he take a holiday just as H is ready to move forward?!!

Never mind, it gives me more time to build up her Twitter followers and blog traffic, so she’s on a strict regime of blogging at least twice a week and then posting in between “Postcards From The Past” which is where she’s picking one of her amazing pics at random and telling the story behind them.  I can see that turning into a coffee table book one day!

Back to my business, since installing my mobile landing pages I’ve noticed something truly astonishing!  Bearing in mind that WordPress blogs are largely already mobile friendly (depending on your theme and plugins!) I wasn’t even sure that I needed mobile landing pages, however, I had bought a plugin and wanted to test it out so I went ahead and created some.

In just one week, the conversions from visitor to Special Report subscriber has been 46% whereas my PopUpDomination lightbox has been averaging 12% which is still brilliant compared with the 2% the blog sidebar widget was getting.

Mobile landing pages – that you can update 1-2 a month if you want to – are one of the “lead products” we are offering at The Business Success Factory so that you can dip your toe in the water on marketing your real world business online so find out more here, if you like the sound of that.

I went to my monthly Mastermind Meeting yesterday – only the 4 core founder members there but we had a great day!  Very focused, direct talking, lots of laughs and then afterwards, Minesh Bhindi took us to his private members club in Canary Wharf, which has a bar, restaurant and cigar bar balcony.  Very nice, as you could tell by all the super-cars in the carpark underneath!  We then went a bit downmarket to a favourite eaterie – Nandos – after which Jason Strachan had to leave us to get home to Birmingham and then Minesh, Andy and I wandered about eating Italian icecream in the sun, before Andy and I headed home to Sussex.

The boys helped me tweak my sales funnel a bit, from networking and business cards through to strategy sessions / meetings for local clients and I’m about to take a big step and order up some printed versions of my reports.  Even though nobody has ordered one yet via the website, most choosing to download PDF’s, I’m thinking I might send some out to folks who I’ve met networking and who seemed very interested but who haven’t taken action yet.

They also ran me through my elevator speech, and how to intrigue enough, to be able to qualify people as really interested versus just taking my card to be polite – Minesh suggested asking those who ask for it, when networking  the simple question “Why?”

Then, if they impress me with their answer as being very interested in improving their marketing, I give them not just my business card, but my printed report with the card stapled to it at the back and say “Be careful, this report is dangerous in the wrong hands!  Just one idea in there made one of my clients £150,000 plus over the next year, from a £6000 investment so when you have given it a good read, give me a call and we can set up a time to talk further”

I’ll give it a go and see what happens!

The report is a good one, I know that because I had a new client tell me the other day that he downloaded it on the train, read it in one sitting and made up his mind he wanted to work with me immediately.

I’ve also just raised the prices on the lowest levels of my “Done For You” service so if you have been thinking about that, you’ve missed out due to not taking action sooner.  I’m regularly coaching / mentoring at the same level of fees as the Gold Level of the “Done For You” and that’s not right if I’m doing the work too!  I don’t know how that one slipped past me but these things happen and at least I twigged it before too many signed up at the daft-girl rate!

What else is news?  Well, I’m not sure yet, but I might be moving back to my beloved Shoreham-By-Sea and I’m really happy about that.  Somehow it just feels like home what with my kids, my best friends Kim, not to mention my “ever worthy adversary” Steve AND my regular Monday night poker game buddies being there LOL
