TBSF 018 | Procrastination & What To Do About It

The Business Success Podcast

This week I talk about procrastination, why you suffer from it, what to do about it and I’m delighted to say that, as a result of reading Rich’s report that I review in this podcast episode and thinking about the whole topic, I’ve stopped procrastinating about a couple of things and taken action to …. Hired my sister Sarah to fix and re-launch my podcast Hired Simon as my new Operations Manager at The Business Success Factory to find value-add products in my vaults and elsewhere, thus turning my hard-won stream of traffic and subscribers into a passive income, while [...] Read More >>>

How to Blog When You Don't Have Time

Would you like to know how to blog when you don’t have time? Of course you would, we all would. Perhaps I need to put it another way… If you could do one thing, that If you did it you knew would ultimately ensure the success of your business, would you do it? Really, are you sure? Blogging is like that. While you can’t guarantee that writing regular blog posts will bring traffic and make sales, one thing is for sure – if you do not blog no traffic will come and no sales will be made! If you blog [...] Read More >>>

Business Diary | Out & About & Masterminding All Over

I’m back from three straight working weekends away and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each of them in very different ways.  Rather wonderfully, they were largely on the Fridays, which means it feels like the weekend, but you end up with part of your weekend left to relax. The first was a trip to Manchester Airport’s Hilton Hotel, to help client Chris Barrow with his first Coaching Tribe workshop, full of dentists; the second was a trip to the Holiday Inn Gatwick to have dinner and spend the day with a brand new Internet Marketing Mastermind group (which totally blew my mind!) Become An Entrepreneur | Swimming With Pirahna For The First Time

Music-Room

As Steve Jobs famously said (and I’m paraphrasing here) you can’t really plan your life, you can only look backwards and connect the dots. Looking back over my life, or at least the part of it that I’ve experienced so far, the time I spent marketing The Music Room was a really pivotal time in my life, for many reasons. I’d been working for Bennie for several months now and while I hated leaving my babies every day (Phoebe was about 3 and Nelson about 1 years old)in the care of my husband, I absolutely loved working for Bennie. I [...] Read More >>>

Become An Entrepreneur | What Did Bennie Have In Store For Me Next?

the-music-room

We left the story with my stumbling off in a haze of exhaustion and glory, after a successful launch of The Victory Cafe and Bennie debating what to do with me next. I was a Special Projects Manager without a Project. The following Monday, he took me out for lunch at his favourite Italian, just round the corner, and over lunch we were joined by his son Cassian. Did I mention that, as well as having created the rather marvellous SPACE Organisation, Bennie was fascinated by history, music, design, philosophy and many other diverse and esoteric subjects? He was a [...] Read More >>>

The No 1 Skill You Need To Succeed In The 21st Century?

Esoteric Records Club Class Vol 1

When we were starting our house music record label, Esoteric Records, back in the early 2000′s, I bought a laptop. It cost me about £150 and I thought that was a lot of money then. Little did I know that, 12 years later, that would be all I would need to make what someone described as “life changing sums of money”. I thought it would be useful for doing accounts and stuff. That was my self appointed role in the new record label, Admin & Finance, and while I was pretty good at it, managing to secure a £25,000 government [...] Read More >>>

Become An Entrepreneur | Enjoying Rationed Eggs & Babycham At The Victory Cafe

Babycham

So where was I with my story of becoming an entrepreneur?  Ah, yes.  I’m up to 1999 I think.  (You can view the previous episode here) I had just turned up for work on the Monday, at Grays Antiques, ready to meet uber-entrepreneur Bennie Gray and find out what he had in store for me! He took me down some tiny stairs by the side of Grays Antiques, saying “mind your step, they are building down here” and sure enough, we arrived in a long tiny building site in the basement, lit by raw arc lights and full of workmen. Become An Entrepreneur | Life Changing Conversations

Bennie Gray

When I left you last time I was just about to pick up the phone to call Bennie Gray, the exciting entrepreneur and founder of the Space Organisation. (You can read the previous episode here or just hit the “Becoming An Entrepreneur” category over on the right there) When I got through to him, quaking in my boots, this is exactly how the conversation went (I remember it as if it was yesterday!). “Hi Bennie, Nicola Cairncross here! I’m just calling because I know you are doing 2nd interviews today and I’ve come back from my holiday in Worthing specially [...] Read More >>>
